A black rat
In the Indian culture, we have many superstitions that people actually believe in. One of them is that it is not good if you see a black rat in your house because it can result in a robbery in the house. My family believes in this superstition, but not me. I came to know about this superstition when my mum told me. When she told me, I first thought that she was joking because I have seen a rat in my own house and we have never ever experienced a robbery. I don’t believe in such superstitions because I know that they aren’t really true. However, you can’t really tell that this superstition is not true, because we all have good and bad luck days in our lives. It could even be a mere co-incidence whereby a rat appears in a home one day, and the next day there is a robbery. There isn’t really a specific history behind it, but according to what I was told, this superstition has been passed on from my ancestors.
